As a Speech and Language Pathologist, I feel strongly that it is important to be knowledgable and up-to-date on new initiatives set forth by both the Education Ministry and the Health Ministry. These initiatives are often important in ensuring that our clients can be successful in an inclusive environment and be successful in their everyday lives.
I strive to develop these competencies in myself as a professional and try to instil these qualities in the students and clients that I work with. Speech and language delays have a large impact on a person's ability to function in any setting, thus ensuring that they have skills to be a 21st century learner is imperative.
